The app’s settings sit behind the gear at the top of Today. Sotto runs on iPhone, with iOS 26 or later.

Restore a membership

On a new iPhone, or after you reinstall the app, tap Restore on the paywall. Later on, open the settings, tap Membership, then Restore purchases. Use the same Apple Account you bought the membership with.

Cancel

Apple manages the subscription. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Sotto, and tap Cancel Subscription. In the app, open the settings and tap Membership, then Manage in the App Store. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, or it renews.

Apple handles refunds as well. Ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

The free week and prices

For new members, the yearly membership starts with 7 days free. After that it costs $49.99 a year, and it renews until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the week ends and you pay nothing. If notifications are on for Sotto, the app reminds you two days before the week ends. The monthly membership is $8.99 a month, with no free week, and renews until you cancel. The lifetime membership is one payment of $119.99, with nothing to renew. Prices differ by country.

When a membership ends

Your diary stays yours: you can still read it and export it. The safety page, in Settings › About and safety, stays open too. Renew any time and everything comes back as you left it, since your diary sits on your iPhone and in your iCloud.

Export your diary

Tap Export at the top of the Diary, or open the settings and find Export under Your data. Choose a practice log (CSV), with a row a day in the columns Buteyko teachers use for a daily log, or everything (JSON). Keep the file in Files, or send it to a teacher or your doctor. Export works whether or not you’re a member.

iCloud sync

Your diary syncs through your own iCloud account, so it reaches your other iPhone or a new one. Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple Account on each iPhone and let Sotto use iCloud: in Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, and find Sotto in the list of apps. Changes can take a few minutes to arrive, and they need a network connection and free space in iCloud. A spoken note still waiting for its words stays on the iPhone where you made it.

Ask, and turning it off

Ask answers your questions about the method from Sotto’s lessons and your own diary. The answers come from DeepSeek, an AI service. Your question and a summary of your diary go there through our server, only after you agree. DeepSeek gets no name, account or ID. Answers are for your practice, not medical advice.

To stop it, open the settings and turn off Ask. Nothing more is sent. The privacy policy lists exactly what Ask sends.

When your health changes

Your practice is planned around the safety questions you answered at the start. If something has changed, such as a new diagnosis, surgery or a pregnancy, open the settings, then About and safety, and tap My health has changed to answer them again. The app also asks again every 90 days, and before a stronger practice opens.

Reminders

Turn reminders on or off, and set their times, in the settings under Reminders. If they don’t arrive, check that notifications are on for Sotto in your iPhone’s Settings.

Turn off usage statistics

In the settings, under Privacy, turn off Share usage statistics. The app stops sending straight away and forgets its random ID. The statistics never contain a health value, or what you write, ask or say. The privacy policy lists what they do contain.

Safety

Sotto teaches a breathing method. It is not a medical device. Keep your medicines and your doctor’s plan, and tell your doctor you’ve started.

If you feel chest pain, feel faint, or are badly short of breath, stop practising and call emergency services.
